This sweater is designed to grow with your kiddo! Springy rib stitch has excellent stretch and curls up when it's not being worn, hence the shrimpy name.

Sizes

0-3 mo (3-6 mo, 6-12 mo, 12-18 mo, 18-24 mo, 2T, 4T)

To fit chest circumference:

16 (17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 23) in / 40.5 (43, 45.5, 48, 50.5, 53, 58.5) cm

Garment chest circumference, approx:

19 (19, 23, 26.5, 30.25, 30.25, 34.25) in / 48, (48, 58, 67, 77, 77, 87) cm (new gauge)

Garment length from shoulder neck intersection to hem:

8.25 (9, 9.75, 10.25, 11, 11.75, 12.75) in / 21 (23, 25, 26, 28, 29, 32.25) cm

Note on sizing: You may notice some sizes have the same chest measurement. This is because the stitch repeat’s width limits the grading possibilities for the larger and smaller sizes. The rib is stretchy by nature. While these sizes are the same in the chest, they differ in the length of the body and sleeves as well as the armhole depth.

Model is 18 months, wearing size 18-24 months.

Work flow:

The sweater is worked bottom up, starting at the bottom hem. Work in the round until the under arms, then divide for upper front and upper back. Work the upper front and upper back flat, then put the stitches on holders for the front and back left shoulder, neck, and front and back right shoulder. Cast on stitches for the saddle. Knit the last stitch of the saddle together with two stitches from the shoulder, turn and repeat until all shoulder stitches are gone. Without binding off the saddle stitches, pick up and knit stitches around the armhole. Join to work in the round, work the sleeve decreases and bind off. Repeat for the other sleeve. Pick up stitches for the neckline, work in the round then bind off.
